Includes an overall assessment of the client’s general characteristics and a thorough evaluation of the client’s head, face and neck areas (particularly the skin and associated lymph nodes). As well, the soft tissues of the mouth, hard and soft palate, throat, tongue and the gums are assessed.
Scaling and root planning is one of the most effective ways to treat gum disease before it becomes severe and hard to manage. These procedures help remove hard and soft bacterial deposits from teeth, and below the gumline- down to the roots.
Polishing removes plaque and extrinsic stains (e.g. coffee, tea, cigarettes, etc.) Fluoride helps strengthen the teeth, prevent tooth decay, and reduce tooth sensitivity.
The active ingredients in teeth whitening products are what makes them effective at removing stains and lightening the colour of teeth. The most common ones are hydrogen peroxide, and carbamide peroxide. *Please note, teeth whitening is a selective procedure.
